Q:What services do you offer?

American Primary Home Care proudly offers a full range of non-medical home care services which include personal care, meal assistance, companionship, laundry, housekeeping, medication reminders, respite care, and live-in services. Additionally, we have custom plans build specifically for your home care needs.

Q:What are ADLs and IADLs?

Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) include the basic tasks essential for day-to-day functioning, such as bathing, dressing, grooming, eating, mobility and use of restroom. Our trained staff assist with these activities.

Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADLs) are considered those activities that are important in enhancing a client’s quality of life. IADLs include such activities as shopping, paying bills, cleaning, doing the laundry and meal preparation. Our trained staff help assist with these activities.

Q:Do you provide services to those in nursing homes or assisted living communities?

Yes. American Primary Home Care also provides services to clients that are in nursing homes and assisted living facilities. We provide companionship or personal care to residents at assisted living communities and nursing homes who may desire additional attention or personalized care.

Q:Are services covered by Medicare or insurance?

Medicare generally does not pay for this type of care. Most long-term care policies will reimburse for these services. We will work with your insurance company to make that determination. We will assist you by easily billing the insurance company directly.

Q:What do you charge for in-home care?

Q:Are your services available around the clock?

Yes. At American Primary Home Care, we are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year!

Q:How do you select your caregivers?

All of our caregivers are rigorously screened. We interview everyone in person and then conduct a thorough reference, criminal background check. All of our caregivers are bonded and insured. Every one of our caregivers has experience and most of our caregivers have advanced training. We match caregivers to you and your family based on your needs.

Q:What happens if my caregiver is sick or on vacation?

We have a team of highly qualified caregivers so that your care service will not be interrupted if someone gets sick or goes on vacation. If your caregiver is unavailable, the Client Care Coordinator will arrange another caregiver and will contact you in advance of the change. The Client Care Coordinator will also introduce the interim caregiver to you and review your Plan of Care with the interim caregiver prior to service. Our goal is to ensure that services are provided as expected. Your safety and security are a top priority.

Q:What if I need to speak to someone in the office after business hours?

American Primary Home Care office staff is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year at your convenience. There is an on-call person available to assist you in after hours.

Q:Do I have to sign a contract locking me into services?

No. American Primary Home Care is here to meet your needs, and as your needs change, so will the services you receive. Our service agreement is derived based upon your needs and duration. Also, custom plans are available in order to meet patients/family needs.
